We are registered with the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, the Texas and Louisiana Boards of Professional Geoscientists and are a Texas-licensed UST Contractor.  Our professional associates provide engineering, geologic, environmental and regulatory compliance consulting and technical assistance to assure compliance with  state and federal regulations.

Kurt is the owner and Manager of ESA.  Kurt and his wife, Karen, started ESA Consulting in 1995 with a vision of assembling a group of knowledgeable, experienced, creative, dedicated, professionals with an overarching desire to help clients. This model continues to produce enduring client relationships.

Karen Ritch

Karen Ritch came to Texas from Fullerton, California to attend Baylor University for both undergraduate and graduate school, majoring in Accounting. She is married to Kurt and they have three beautiful children. Karen provides guidance and oversight of administrative operations, information technology and accounting.  She is also heavily involved in the community, teaching business at Pine Tree High School, and through the Longview Tennis Association, Longview World of Wonders children's museum, and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Longview.

Krystal has 14 years of experience in teaching and administration.  She has came to ESA as an administrative assistant in 2014, and has taken on bookkeeping, ISNetworld compliance management, document production and quality control over the last five years.  Krystal is First Aid and CPR-qualified

James is a Professional Geologist experienced in the environmental, mining, and petrochemical industries, and is a senior project manager  handling risk, compliance, and quality for commercial and industrial clients. An extensive track record performing risk based environmental assessment, remediation, natural resources evaluation, and project oversight. Based in Texas with nationwide coverage.

Carl has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry working with the Railroad Commission of Texas.  During that time he specialized in oil field waste disposal, permitting and legal enforcement issues.  Since 2012, he has been providing support and consultation services to assist clients in practically and efficiently implementing their compliance requirements.
