ESA is a multi-disciplined consulting firm with East Texas roots, based in Longview.   Since 1995, ESA has worked well beyond the boundaries of Texas using innovative, cost-effective strategies to facilitate regulatory compliance and control environmental risk.

We are registered with the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, and the Texas and Louisiana Boards of Professional Geoscientists. ESA is a Texas-licensed UST Contractor and LPST Corrective Action Specialist.  Our professional associates provide engineering, geologic, environmental and regulatory compliance consulting and technical assistance to assure compliance with  state and federal regulations.

ESA serves clients in the  oil and gas, pipeline, mining, agricultural, industrial, manufacturing, transportation, retail, insurance and financial sectors.

Kurt D. Ritch, PG
Owner, Geologist
B.S., M.S. Geology, Baylor University

Kurt is the owner and Manager of ESA.  Kurt and his wife, Karen, started ESA Consulting in 1995 with a vision of assembling a group of knowledgeable, experienced, creative, dedicated, professionals with an overarching desire to help clients. This model continues to produce enduring client relationships.

For 27 years, Kurt has overseen the provision of services to meet the needs of a diverse array of clients including private landowners, financial institutions, retailers, industrial manufacturers, commercial farmers, oil & gas operators, and service providers.

Licensed Professional Geologist in Texas and Louisiana as well as an AIPG-Certified Professional Geoscientist.

Karen Ritch
B.A., M.B.A. Baylor University

Karen Ritch attended Baylor University for both undergraduate and graduate school, majoring in Business Administration. She is married to Kurt and they have three beautiful children, and one grandchild. Karen provides guidance and oversight of administrative operations, and information technology.  She is also heavily involved in the community, teaching business at Pine Tree High School, and  playing with the Longview Tennis Association. She has also served on the board of the  Longview World of Wonders children's museum.

Krystal Cantrell Hollis
Administrative Assistant

Krystal has 14 years of experience in teaching and administration.  She has came to ESA as an administrative assistant in 2014, and has taken on bookkeeping, ISNetworld compliance management, document production and quality control over the last five years.  Krystal is First Aid and CPR-qualified

Clint Tevebaugh
Environmental Engineer

B.S. Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Texas A&M University

Clint is an Engineer-In-Training with over seven years of  experience in the environmental, engineering and waste treatment industries. He serves as a project manager for environmental compliance projects for commercial and industrial clients.

Carl Gardner, PE 
Oil & Gas Regulatory Compliance
B.S. Civil Engineering, Texas A & I

Carl has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry working with the Railroad Commission of Texas.  During that time he specialized in oil field waste disposal, permitting and legal enforcement issues.  Since 2012, he has been providing support and consultation services to assist clients in practically and efficiently implementing their compliance requirements.
